Ben Hogan is one of the greatest golfers of all time. He won nine major championships, including four U.S. Opens and three Masters Tournaments. He was also a member of the winning Ryder Cup team in 1951 and 1953.

In 1953, Hogan was involved in a near-fatal car accident. He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken pelvis and ribs. Doctors told him that he would never play golf again, but Hogan refused to give up. He underwent extensive rehabilitation and returned to the PGA Tour in 1954.
Hogan won the Masters Tournament again in 1954 and the U.S. Open in 1955. He retired from competitive golf in 1959 and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.
