Elizabeth Taylor was born in London, England, on February 27, 1932. Her parents were Francis Lenn Taylor, an art dealer, and Sara Sothern, an actress. Taylor had two older brothers, Howard and William.

Personal Life
Taylor was married eight times. Her first marriage was to Conrad Hilton Jr. in 1950. The marriage was annulled in 1951. Taylor was then married to Michael Wilding from 1952 to 1957. They had three children together: Michael Jr., Christopher, and Liza.
In 1957, Taylor married Mike Todd. Todd died in a plane crash in 1958. Taylor was then married to Eddie Fisher from 1959 to 1964. They had one daughter together: Carrie Fisher.
In 1964, Taylor married Richard Burton for the first time. They divorced in 1974, but remarried in 1975. They divorced again in 1976. Taylor was then married to John Warner from 1976 to 1982.
In 1991, Taylor married Larry Fortensky. They divorced in 1996.
Activism
Taylor was a vocal advocate for people with HIV/AIDS. In 1985, she co-founded the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR). She also founded the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in 1991.
Taylor's activism helped to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and to provide support for people with the disease. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2001 for her work in fighting HIV/AIDS.
